MRTS have a proven record of providing a safe and healthy workplace for all of our employee’s. MRTS always look to minimise our impact on the environment.

 

Staff

Working in the tree industry means regularly performing a number of high risk work tasks every day. All MRTS staff are appropriately trained and qualified to ensure all work completed is to the required standard.

Some of this training includes but not limited to;
First Aid training
Truck Licenses
Chainsaw (operate and maintain & Tree felling)
Woodchipper License
Chemical application
EWP Licence (inc. rescue and escape)
Traffic control
Hearing conservation
Manual handling
Cert 3 in Arboriculture
Cert 2 in ESI (inc. close approach vegetation control)
Powerline network inductions and safety rules

Regular refresher training is undertaken to ensure all staff are up to date with current policies and practices.

Machinery & Equipment

All of our machinery and equipment is regularly audited to ensure compliance. Our EWP’s are inspected 3 monthly and electrically tested every 6 months to ensure safety and compliance when working around powerlines.
All vehicles are fitted with a range of safety equipment such as first aid kits, spill kits, fire extinguishers, burns kits and snake bite kits in case of an accident or emergency.

Risk Assessment

MRTS also uses a comprehensive Risk Assessment system which consists of Daily Pre-start checklists, Daily Risk Assessments, Safe work procedures, Safe work method statements, Incident and Hazard reporting systems, PPE checklists and various other platforms to ensure all safety practices are documented and implemented.
These are completed at the beginning of each day, reviewed prior to each new job and any new hazards documented and control measures implemented.

Insurance

MRTS is fully insured and compliant. $20 mil Public Liability. Vehicle Insurance and Work Cover. Certificate of Currency available on request.
